Terms & Conditions

Last updated 13 July 2026

These terms apply to every booking made with Serengeti Affinity Safaris. By requesting a quote or paying a deposit, you accept them on behalf of everyone in your party.

1. Definitions

“We” and “us” mean Serengeti Affinity Safaris. “You” means the lead traveller making the booking. A “safari” is the tour and services set out in your confirmed itinerary.

2. Making a booking

A booking is confirmed once we accept your deposit and issue a written confirmation with a booking reference. Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us at once if anything is incorrect.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are quoted per person in US dollars unless stated otherwise and are confirmed at the time of booking. To secure your safari we ask for a deposit of 30% of the total, with the balance due 45 days before departure.

  • Bookings made within 45 days of departure require full payment.
  • We charge no booking or card fees. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

4. Cancellation and refunds

If you cancel, the following typically applies, calculated from the departure date:

  • More than 60 days before: deposit retained.
  • 60 to 30 days before: 50% of the total.
  • Fewer than 30 days before: 100% of the total.

We recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellation. Your exact terms are confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

5. Changes by us

We plan every trip carefully, but wildlife, weather and local conditions can require changes. If we must alter a significant part of your itinerary, we will offer a suitable alternative of comparable standard.

6. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travel. It should cover medical care, emergency evacuation, cancellation and personal belongings for the full duration of your trip.

7. Passports, visas and health

You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visa, and any required vaccinations for Tanzania. We are happy to advise, but the final responsibility rests with you.

8. Our liability

We take reasonable care to provide the services in your itinerary. We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control, or for loss that was not foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure to deliver services caused by circumstances beyond our control, including natural events, political instability, epidemics, or travel restrictions.

10. Complaints

If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide immediately so we can put it right. Any complaint that cannot be resolved on the ground should be sent to us in writing within 28 days of your return.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts.
